NO. MANCHESTER, Ind. â€" The Earlham College volleyball team finished competing in the Manchester University Invitational on Saturday.
Capital University defeated Earlham in the first contest of the day 25-7, 25-15, 25-9, while in the second match, Ohio Wesleyan University won 25-14, 25-15, 25-15 over the Quakers.
Jazmyn Corlew led the Quakers against Capital (7-6) with five kills and four blocks.
Morgan Thompson, who was selected for the all-tournament team, topped the Quakers with nine assists.
Ashley Hedrick added eight assists, while Rinako Nakamura had a team-high seven digs. Meg Huffmeyer finished with six digs.
Against Ohio Wesleyan (7-5), Jolene Wells led the way with four kills. Thompson had 11 assists and Hedrick had 10 assists.
Nakamura had 10 digs, while Kazondra Ramos and Huffmeyer had nine digs each. Emily Lim had a pair of sevice aces.
The Quakers (3-9) are back in action on Wednesday at Franklin College. The non-conference match for the two squads starts at 6 p.m. The teams play their Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest in Richmond on Oct. 2.
