RICHMOND, Ind. â€" The Earlham College men's soccer team battled to a 3-3 draw through two overtimes on Saturday with Mount St. Joseph University.
The Lions (3-11-1, 1-3-1) picked up a pair a goals in the opening period of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest before the Quakers rallied.
Earlham had three straight goals in the second half to take the lead.
Andrey Gavrilov scored at 47:40 with assists from Masaki Nakamura and Victor Zuniga.
Ameer Yusuf tied the contest at 64:07 with an assist from Jacob Ebbs.
Ebbs excited the Matlack Field faithful when he gave the Quakers a 3-2 advantage at 77:15. Nakamura picked up an assist on the play.
The Lions scored what proved to be the final goal of the contest on a penalty kick at 79:33 to tie the match.
Earlham led 24-14 in shots and 11-7 in corner kicks.
Aaron Falsetto had for saves in goal for the Quakers with two of the stops coming in the second overtime.
The Quakers (1-10-2, 1-3-1) are at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Wednesday. The HCAC match is at 7:30 p.m.
