Box Score NO. MANCHESTER, Ind. — The Earlham College men's basketball team finished its weekend in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference/Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Challenge on Sunday with a 56-43 loss to Kalamazoo College at Manchester University.
Earlham had three players in double figures led by Elijah Wilson-Thomas, who had 18 points against the Hornets (2-1).
Taylen Alexander added 12 points and a team-high six rebounds, while Patrick Hawkins tossed in 11 points.
The Quakers were able to hold an early advantage in the contest. Hawkins hit a 3-pointer to make it 3-2 at the 17:57 mark of the first half.
Earlham was able to build a lead of five points on three occasions with the last time coming at 9:10 of the opening frame when it was 14-9 after Wilson-Thomas drilled a 3-pointer.
Kalamazoo answered with a run to tie the game at 14-14 with 7:46 to go in the period.
By the intermission, Kalamazoo led 26-19. In the second half, the Hornets were able to maintain their distance to pick up the win.
The Quakers (0-4) open play in the HCAC at home on Wednesday against Bluffton University. The conference affair on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
