Box Score GREENCASTLE, Ind. — The Earlham College men's basketball team visited DePauw University on Wednesday night.
DePauw won 69-49 over the Quakers in the non-conference affair against the Tigers (5-2).
Kyle Smith led Earlham with 13 points, while Taylen Alexander added a dozen points with two assists and two steals.
Elijah Wilson-Thomas and Lajay Kelly finished with eight points each. Kelly also had a team-high seven rebounds and a pair of assists. DeAndre Lynch pulled down six rebounds.
The Tigers grabbed an early 10-2 lead by the 16:35 mark in the opening period.
DePauw maintained that edge until the Quakers began to rally late in the first half.
Smith hit 1-of-2 free throws at 5:18 to make it 22-17. Moments later, Smith nailed a pair of free throws to make it 22-19 with 4:56 left.
The Tigers hit at 3-pointer just before halftime to lead 34-24 at the intermission.
In the second half, the Tigers kept their margin to get the win.
The Quakers (0-7, 0-2) are back in action on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center
Saturday against Hanover College. The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest begins at 4 p.m.
