Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College men's basketball team fell 79-46 to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Hanover College on Saturday.
Taylen Alexander led the Quakers with 14 points in the contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
Kyle Smith and Lajay Kelly finished with six points each. Kelly grabbed a team-high four rebounds against the Panthers (5-2, 3-0).
Alexander gave the Quakers an early 6-2 advantage when he scored at the 16:57 mark of the opening period.
Hanover was able to answer and the game was eventually tied at 9-9 and 11-11 before the Panthers went on a 9-point run to build a 20-11 lead with 7:05 left.
The Panthers led 37-21 by halftime on their way to the win as they take over the top spot in the HCAC.
The Quakers (0-8, 0-3) are back in action next Saturday with a home contest against Kenyon College at 3 p.m.
