Box Score FRANKLIN, Ind. â€" The Earlham College volleyball team opened play in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference on Wednesday with a 25-16, 19-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-10 loss at Franklin College.

Jolene Wells led the Quakers with 18 kills, eight blocks and four aces against the Grizzlies (10-4, 1-0).

Kayla Morris finished with 11 kills and three aces.

Alexus Bex had a team-high 22 digs, while Wells and Morris added 13 each. Emily Lim contributed 12 digs.

Ashley Hedrick had 14 assists.

Earlham (3-13, 0-1) travels to the Illinois Institute of Technology on Saturday. The Quakers meet Trine University at 11 a.m. They then face the host school at 1 p.m.
