Barclay Scores in Women's Soccer Loss

RICHMOND, Ind. – Junior Cherrah Barclay netted her first goal of the season, but the Transylvania Pioneers scored five times to defeat the Earlham College women's soccer team in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) action on Tuesday.

Transylvania (4-6-2) got on the board early as the Pioneers scored three goals in the first 25 minutes. Barclay would cut the deficit to two goals as she used a pass from junior Abby McCollough beat Transylvania goalkeeper Ally Barfield in the 77th minute. The Pioneers added two goals late to seal the victory.

Barclay took three shots while McCollough fired two. Transylvania had five different players score in the contest.

Freshman goalkeeper Maritza Santon came in relief in the 34th minute and made nine saves.
Earlham continues HCAC play on Saturday at Mount St. Joseph. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
