Box Score ANDERSON, Ind. – The Earlham College women's soccer team dropped its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) opener 2-0 at Anderson on Saturday.
The Ravens (5-3-0, 1-0-0 HCAC) scored two first half goals to seal the win. Chloe Hassett netted the game's opening goal in the 25th minute while Shania Bishop scored with 28 seconds remaining in the first half.
Neither team scored a goal in the final 45 minutes of play.
Juniors Abby McCullough, Michaela Bush, and Cherrah Barclay provided the offense for the Quakers firing four, three, and three shots respectively. Of Earlham's 11 team shots, 10 of them were on net. Anderson goalkeeper Allyson Saylor was up to the task, however, posting the shutout.
Senior goalkeeper Ashley (A.J.) Johnson took the loss allowing two goals and making 11 saves. The victory for the Ravens over Earlham marks just the second win in the past decade.
Earlham continues HCAC competition on Oct. 7 when the Quakers travel to defending HCAC Champion Hanover for a 4 p.m. contest.
