Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Earlham men's soccer team held an 17-11 shots advantage, but the host Panthers from Hanover College scored the game's only two goals to earn a 2-0 win over the Quakers in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play on Tuesday.
Enrico Franchini scored his seventh goal of the season at the 22:41 mark to give Hanover a 1-0 advantage. The Panthers would add a second goal 2:33 into the second half to secure the win.
Trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Quakers put the pressure on, firing 10 shots in the final 45 minutes compared to two for the Panthers. Earlham also earned four corner kicks to Hanover's three in the second half.
Senior Jacob Ebbs fired four shots in the contest, two of them were on net. Freshman Yuki Adams also put two shots on net.
Freshman goalie Nicola Manni took the loss, allowing two goals and making four saves in 90 minutes.
Earlham dips to 4-5 on the season and an even 1-1 in HCAC competition. The Quakers return to action on Saturday at home against Bluffton. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
