ANDERSON, Ind. – Sophomore Elijah Wilson-Thomas tallied 30 points in his first game this season, but the Ravens of Anderson University shot 55.6 percent from the field and defeated the Earlham College men's basketball team 113-85 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) action on Saturday.
Anderson jumped out of the gate offensively scoring 29 points in the first eight minutes. Trailing by 20 early, the Quakers got the deficit down to 15 points at 46-31, but could get no closer.
Wilson-Thomas finished with seven rebounds and two assists to go along with his 31 points. The Goldsboro, S.C., native has one other game scoring at least 30 points, at O.C. Lewis Gymnasium last season.
Junior Kamari Hunter and senior Taylen Alexander also finished in double figures with 12 and 11 points respectively.
Nathaniel Acree led Anderson with 22 points while Trevor Lucas added 18 points.
The Ravens shot 55.6 percent from the field (40-72) while the Quakers shot a respectable 41.5 percent (27-65).
The Quakers stand at 0-4 on the season and return to action at Bluffton on Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
