Beavers Defeat EC

BLUFFTON, Ohio — The Earlham College men's basketball team had a pair of players in double figures on Wednesday as the Quakers fell 73-59 at Bluffton University.

Lajay Kelly and Patrick Hawkins led the Quakers with 10 points each in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference affair against the Beavers (13-11, 9-8).

Joe Adams, Kamari Hunter and Kyle Smith each tossed in six points apiece.

Adams and DeAndre Lynch both had a team high six rebounds. Kelly had three blocks.

Bluffton worked its way to a 21-11 advantage midway through the opening frame before the Quakers were able to close the gap when Adams scored to make it 25-18 with 4:47 left.

By intermission, the Beavers led 35-23. In the second half, Bluffton was able to maintain its distance to hold on for the win.

The Quakers (1-23, 1-16) finish the season on Saturday against Anderson University. The Senior Day HCAC contest gets underway on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center at 3 p.m.
