Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

OBERLIN, Ohio – The Earlham College volleyball team fell to a pair of North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) opponents on Saturday - 3-0 to Wooster and 3-1 at Oberlin.

In the match against Wooster, sophomore Kayla Morris tallied 10 kills and 10 digs, team highs in both categories. Freshman setter Abigail Sheehan dished out 20 assists while sophomore Meredith Beed added two blocks. Freshman Megan Hedinger tallied four kills, two assists, and two service aces.

In the match at Oberlin, Earlham lost set one 25-15, but found itself up 21-19 in set two. Host Oberlin rattled off three of the next four points to force head coach Lauren Crump to call timeout. A kill from freshman Denisha Mataia and an Oberlin attack error gave the Quakers two set points. After an attack error from freshman Ashleigh Burton, the Indianapolis, Ind., native made up for her mistake and put down a kill to give Earlham the second set.

Oberlin bounced back, however, to win the next two sets 25-13 and 25-10 to take the match.

Morris again led the Quakers with 12 kills, but also recorded 12 attack errors. Freshman Skylar Muckway finished with seven kills, Burton had six, and Mataia had five. Sheehan assisted on 25 Quaker kills. Hedinger tallied a team-high 14 digs.

Earlham stands at 4-13 on the season and opens Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) again defending HCAC Tournament champions Bluffton on the road. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sept. 30.
