Volleyball Finishes HCAC/MIAA Challenge

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Earlham College volleyball team completed day two of competition at the HCAC/MIAA Challenge on Saturday. The Quakers dropped matches to Olivet (25-13, 25-23, 25-13) and Albion (25-17, 25-16, 25-17) at the Merrilat Center at Adrian College.

In the match with Olivet, sophomore Kayla Morris led the Quakers with seven kills on 21 swings and two errors for a .238 attack percentage. Freshman Abigail Sheehan dished out 15 assists while fellow freshman Megan Hedinger chipped in 11 digs. Freshman Denisha Mataia nearly recorded double digits in digs, but fell one dig short. Freshman Ashleigh Burton hit a .333 clip in the match while recording six kills.

In the match with Albion, Morris and Burton again led the charge for the Quakers offensively with each recording seven kills. Sheehan assisted on 19 kills for Earlham. Freshman Jessica Dammeyer tallied 15 digs.

The Quakers return home next weekend for the Quaker Classic on Sept. 12-13.
