NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Manchester poured in 10 three-pointers as the Spartans defeated the Earlham College men's basketball team 95-64 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) action on Saturday.

The Spartans (5-6, 2-2 HCAC) scored the first seven points of the contest before senior Taylen Alexander hit a layup with 17:28 to play to put the Quakers on the board. Freshman Alex Topalovic and sophomore Elijah Wilson-Thomas hit two free throws each to get Earlham within six points at the 15:36 mark, but the Quakers went cold from the field for the next three minutes. When Topalovic broke the scoreless drought with a layup, Earlham trailed 19-9.

A basket from freshman Isaiah Ware got the deficit within seven points at 23-16 with 9:19 to play in the first, but had no answer for Manchester's shooting from distance. The Spartans hit 8-18 from beyond the arc and led 54-26 at halftime.

In the second half, Earlham got within 24 points on two occasions, but could get no closer.

Local North Manchester product, freshman Chainey Zolman, led the Quakers with 15 points and three rebounds off of the bench. Wilson-Thomas finished with 11 points and four rebounds while freshman Cole Bene tallied eight points.

Matt Brown led Manchester with 23 points. Brady Dolezal finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

Earlham returns to action on Jan. 6 for a 7:30 p.m. game against HCAC foe Transylvania.
