RICHMOND, Ind. - The Earlham College women's soccer team hosted Anderson University on Matlack Field and managed to secure a tie during the Saturday homecoming game.
The game started off strong when Senior Cherrah Barclay came through with her fourth goal of the season 12 minutes into the game. The Ravens pressed the Quakers' defense, but failed to score as Earlham took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Ten minutes into the second half, Emily Buchman leveled the game at the 55:27 mark. For the remainder of the game both teams tried to go for the winning shot, but neither team could break through the others' defense.
Anderson held a 25-5 shots advantage, but the Quakers took two shots in the second overtime compared to one for the Ravens. Freshman goalie Sari Stissi made 14 saves and allowed just one goal in sealing the draw.
Earlham will be back on Matlack Field on Tuesday, Oct. 18, against Hanover College. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
