TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Earlham College women's soccer team took a loss to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 2-1 in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) contest on Wednesday evening.
Madeline Romeo found Jessica Wells to open the scoring in the 22nd minute. Trailing 1-0, senior Cherrah Barclay netted her fourth goal of the season ten minutes before halftime to knot the game 1-1.
Midway through the second half, Wells scored her second goal of the game which proved to be the game-winner. Earlham fought hard for a chance to equalize and reclaim the game, but could not crack the Rose-Hulman defense.
Rose-Hulman held a 17-3 advantage in attempted shots of the game, while freshman Sari Stissi who served as Earlham goalkeeper, secured a 5-1 save advantage over Rose-Hulman goalies Carli Weinberg and Chiarra Franklin.
The Quakers will be back on the field as they compete against Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
