RICHMOND, Ind. – Teddy Kerr scored the game's only goal to lift Mount St. Joseph University to a 1-0 victory over the Earlham College men's soccer team in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

Kerr scored unassisted in the 16th minute, beating Earlham goalkeeper, sophomore Peter Kashatus. The shot was the Lion's only on goal of the afternoon as the Quakers' defense held strong.

The two teams combined for just 11 shots in the contest with Earlham holding a slight 6-5 edge. MSJ goalkeeper Will Schwing earned the win, saving two shots in the first half. Cody Kappes played the final 45 minutes in net.

Earlham's comeback effort proved difficult as the Quakers played the final 40 minutes down a man and the last seven and a half minutes down two players.

The Quakers are 5-6 on the season and 1-2 in HCAC play. Earlham will look to snap its two-game skid at Defiance College on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
