RICHMOND, Ind. – Bluffton University held the Earlham College men's basketball team to 10 points in the final 9:49 to earn an 80-70 victory over the Quakers on senior night at Schuckman Court on Wednesday.

Sophomore Elijah Wilson-Thomas scored three straight possessions for the Quakers to give Earlham its largest lead (33-21) with 6:28 to play in the first half. The Beavers got within five as Jared Wentling hit a layup as time expired.

Leading 45-40 at halftime behind 19 points from senior Taylen Alexander, the Champaign, Ill., native scored the first three points of the second half on an old-fashioned three-point play. The Beavers would score 12 of the next 15 points, however, to regain a 54-53 advantage.

The Beavers would go up 62-57 on an Austin Rohde layup, but freshman Isaiah Waire had the answer with a three-pointer to get the Quakers within two (62-60).

Bluffton continued to get to the rim in the final 10 minutes. Rohde, Billy Taflinger, and Thayne Recker scored 16 of the Beavers' last 18 points.

Rohde led all scorers with 32 points while Wentling and Taflinger added 14 and 13 respectively.

Alexander finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds in his final game at Schuckman Court. Fellow senior Kedar Bullock finished 3-4 from the field for seven points. Prior to the game, Bullock had not made a field goal as a Quaker.

Bluffton shot 53.7 percent from the field while Earlham was an even 45 percent from the floor. The Quakers won the rebounding battle 36-29.

Earlham finishes its 2015-16 season at Mount St. Joseph on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
