RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's soccer team fell to Wilmington College 1-0 in the Quaker Bowl at Matlack Field on Wednesday afternoon.
Wilmington's Katie Evans netted the game's only goal as she broke through the Earlham defense and fired a shot low towards the far post in the 20th minute.
Earlham attempted to equalize, earning two corner kicks in the first half, but could not beat the Wilmington defense.
Wilmington held a 20-4 advantage in shots including an 8-2 edge in shots on goal. Earlham's goalkeeper, freshman Sari Stissi, would only be beaten once and made seven saves in the contest.
Senior Cherrah Barclay took two of Earlham's shots including one on net. Juniors Abby McCollough and Kelsey Moore each fired one shot on goal.
Earlham, which played its first home game of the season on Wednesday, continues a home stand on Saturday against Ohio Wesleyan University. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
