RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College men's soccer freshman Micah Roland netted the game's only goal in the Quakers' 1-0 triumph over Wabash College at Matlack Field on Wednesday.

Both teams looked to be headed for a scoreless first half until junior Aiden Klemmer set a cross into the box with 30 seconds to play in the half. Roland settled the cross and fired a shot past Little Giant goalkeeper Dayton Jennings.

The Quakers nearly opened the scoring in the seven minute as freshman Joe Balls tested to woodwork, firing a shot from 20 yards out that caromed off of the crossbar.

The Earlham defense stiffened in the second half allowing just three Wabash shots.

Sophomore goalkeeper Nicola Manni picked up a shutout victory making four saves in the contest. Jennings allowed one goal and made one save.

The victory for Earlham over Wabash avenged a 2-1 double overtime defeat on Sept. 9 of 2015.

Earlham finishes its three-game home stand with a 2-1-0 record. The Quakers will battle Ferrum College (Saturday) and Emory & Henry University (Sunday) in a pair of games at Emory & Henry this weekend.
