Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Earlham College men's soccer team was unable to find its offensive stride in Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference road contest at Hanover College, and dropped a 2-0 decision to the Panthers at the HC Athletics Complex.
Earlham battled Hanover to a 0-0 stalemate through the opening 45 minutes, despite being outshot by the Panthers, 11-0, in the first half.
Hanover finally broke the deadlock in the 76th minute when the Panthers' Sean Fleming headed a ball off Carlos Schryver's corner kick service to give the Hanover a 1-0 lead.
The Panthers doubled their lead to 2-0 in the 88th minute, when Fellipe Busato finished a cross from Josh Hughes.
Hanover finished the game with a 22-1 advantage in total shots, with Earlham keeper Henry Wildes charting eight saves.
Earlham men's soccer continues HCAC play on Wednesday, Oct. 16, when it hosts Bluffton in a 3:30 p.m. match.
