CINCINNATI, Ohio – A solid offensive performance from the Quakers was not quite enough to get past host Mount St. Joseph, and Earlham College women's volleyball eventually dropped a 3-2 (21-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-20, 15-9) loss to the Lions on Saturday at the Harrington Center.

Earlham hit .156 for the match – only slightly off the .181 clip posted by Mount St. Joseph – and had three players register double-digit kill totals. Sophomore outside hitter Sarah Dickman charted 16 kills and hit .262 for the match, while junior Julia Stewart and sophomore Caroline Mulvihill had 13 and 10 kills respectively. Sophomore Abbey Zanatta tacked on nine kills.

Mulvihill also turned up a team-leading 21 digs while Stewart and setter Lauren Jackson had 16 digs each.

However, Mount St. Joseph (11-9, 3-0 HCAC) was led by Brooke Aselage's 22 kills and 12 digs, with Kyla Henderson and Makayla Chambers chipping in with 13 and 10 kills respectively. The Lions managed to overcome the 27 attack errors they committed during the match.

Brooklyn Brunner sprawled for 36 digs, leading a MSJ squad that finished with 111 team digs to Earlham's 104.

The Quakers did have an advantage at the net, where Earlham had 5.0 blocks to Mount St. Joseph's 4.0. Sophomore Giselle Mora led the Quakers with one block solo and two block assists.

Earlham volleyball continues its HCAC road stand on Wednesday, Oct. 16, when it travels to Defiance, Ohio, to face Defiance College in a 7:00 p.m. match.
