Men's soccer upended in HCAC road clash at Transylvania

RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College men's soccer allowed three goals early in the opening half and never recovered in a 4-0 loss at Transylvania University, Wednesday evening at Pat Deacon Stadium.

The Pioneers' Mitchell Crispin scored what would ultimately prove to be the game winner in the sixth minute, and tacked on his second goal of the game in the 22nd minute. In between, Transylvania was credited with an Earlham own goal, giving the Pioneers a 3-0 lead at the halftime break.

Devin Craig added an insurance goal in the 67th minute, with Crispin getting the assist.

Transy outshot Earlham, 22-3, with Quaker keeper Henry Wildes finishing with eight saves. Three different Pioneer keepers combined for the shutout with one save.

Earlham men's soccer will face Hanover College in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday, Oct. 12, in Hanover, Ind.
