On Thursday, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced all-region teams and honors for the 2021 season. Earlham College sophomore
Maria Young was selected as one of the 14 players on the All-Midwest Region team.
Young led the Quakers offensively this season with 338 kills and a .275 attack percentage. She was named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year last week. Young also recorded 24 service aces and 44 blocks during the historic season for the Quakers.
Earlham ended its season with a mark of 20-6 after falling to Transylvania in the HCAC finals match. The Quakers entered the tournament after winning the program's first ever HCAC regular-season title.
