ANDERSON, Indiana – Earlham College received double-digit scoring contributions from three different players, but were unable to get past a hot-shooting Anderson University squad in an 86-56 loss to the Ravens, Saturday afternoon at O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.
Jamel Barnes Jr. led the Quakers with 15 points, while
Tommy Makabu netted 14 for the Maroon and White.
Josh Ozanne charted his first career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, including six on the offensive glass.
Barnes' 15-point performance sends the senior out with 1,028 career points over 80 career games for Earlham, an average of 12.9 points per game.
Earlham shot 33.9 percent (21-of-62) from the field, which left the Quakers way off the 50.0 percent (31-of-62) fired by the Ravens from the floor over 40 minutes – including an 18-of-31 clip (.581) from the field in the second half alone.
Anderson's cause was also boosted by a 12-of-26 mark from 3-point range.
Fred Shropshire paced the Ravens with 18 points, including a 6-of-8 mark from beyond the arc, while Ronny Williams finished with 11 points and 11 boards. Cade Gentry and Francis Uzorh came off the bench to add 13 and 12 points respectively, with Gentry connecting on three 3-point attempts.
