Earlham Athletics to expand admission policies at outdoor athletics events

RICHMOND, Indiana – Earlham College will expand its admissions policies at home outdoor athletic events, effective with the Quakers' home events on March 17, 2021, in women's soccer and men's lacrosse.

Earlham College will now permit Earlham student-athletes to have two guests in attendance at the home events in their sport. Guests must be registered on a team pass list prior to the date of the contest.

Home outdoor athletic events had previously been opened to on-campus residential students, as well as currently employed Earlham faculty and staff, under an announcement made on February 26, 2021.

No other off-campus spectators, including fans of visiting teams, will be permitted.

Guests of Earlham student-athletes coming from off-campus will be kept in separate seating areas from Earlham campus community members in attendance; signage will be posted at Randal R. Sadler Stadium and Darrell Beane Stadium directing members of the two groups to their designated areas.

All those in attendance at Earlham College athletics events must follow the following protocols:
  • spectators are asked to follow social distancing practices;
  • masks/facial coverings must be worn properly at all times;
  • spectators are not permitted on the playing field or surface at any time;
  • spectators are not permitted to come within 10 feet of any participants at any time;
  • if any COVID symptoms are present, the individual is not permitted in any Earlham College Athletics facility.
To facilitate the social distancing protocols, all remaining home men's and women's soccer games will be played at Darrell Beane Stadium.

Failure to follow these protocols will result in the individual being asked to leave the facility.

The policies of other institutions will apply for athletics events on their own campuses, and may or may not permit the attendance of Earlham parents and/or fans. Each Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference institution creates its own attendance policies for on-campus outdoor sports under an agreement among the HCAC Council of Presidents. Earlham Athletics asks its fans to respect the attendance policies put forth by each HCAC member.
