RICHMOND, Indiana – A pair of second half goal helped visiting Transylvania University secure a 3-0 win over Earlham College men's soccer, in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon at Darrell Beane Stadium.
Earlham's record dipped to 2-5-0 with the loss, while Transylvania improved to 6-1-0.
The Pioneers took the lead in the 29th minute when Max Nusbacher beat Earlham keeper
Henry Wildes to break the scoreless tie.
Transy's 1-0 lead held into the second half when Tyler Dobbs found the back of the Earlham goal in the 55th minute. Zach Hill added an insurance goal in the 72nd minute with his header into the Earlham goal off a corner kick service from Spencer Waldrop.
Wildes finished the game with five saves in the Earlham goal, with the Pioneers outshooting the Quakers, 13-0. Transy had eight corner kick opportunities to Earlham's three.
Earlham men's soccer is on the road this Saturday, March 27, when the Quakers travel to Rose-Hulman. Game time is slated for 3:30 p.m.
