FRANKLIN, Indiana – Earlham College men's soccer saw its Spring 2021 season come to a close on Thursday evening with a 4-1 loss to host Franklin College, in the no. 7 vs. no. 8 seed game as part of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Soccer Championship Week.
Franklin jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening frame on goals by Jacob Thompson, Noah Harris, and Trevor Bray.
Caleb Wilgen got on the Earlham on the scoreboard in the 59th minute off an assist from
Luc Cesar.
The Grizzlies' Dany Escamilla capped the scoring with a final goal for Franklin in the 63rd minute.
Tyler Smith played all 90 minutes in the Earlham goal and registered three saves, while the Grizzlies' Elliott Clark charted 11 saves in the Franklin goal. Earlham outshot Franklin, 22-10, and had 11 corner kick opportunities to the Grizzlies' six.
Earlham finished its 2021 Spring campaign with a 2-8-0 record
