RICHMOND – The Earlham College women's soccer team lost its first home conference game of the season with a 5-0 result against Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday afternoon.
The Quakers fell to 2-4-2 (0-2 HCAC) while the Lions improved to 5-5-2 (1-0-1 HCAC).
MSJ got its first goal of the match in the fourth minute, and added a second in the seventh minute.
Despite the early success on goal, the Earlham backline held the visitors scoreless through the rest of the half.
The Lions added three more goals in the first 25 minutes of the second half.
Noelle Hooper recorded the only shot for the Quakers which she put on frame in the 71st minute from a free kick.
Maddie Coyle collected eight saves in her second career start in goal.
Earlham will continue its season by hosting Defiance on Wednesday afternoon in Matlack-Messer Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 pm.
