RICHMOND – The Earlham College field hockey team hosted its seniors for one final contest of the 2022 season in Darrell Beane Stadium on Saturday for Senior Day. The Quakers were defeated 5-0 by Ohio Wesleyan University in the 2022 finale.
Before competition, Earlham paid tribute to its four graduating seniors,
Alyssa Johnson,
Guin Schalck,
Regan Seeman, and
Karina Steitz were honored for their contributions to the EC field hockey program. Earlham also honored the four seniors on the OWU roster in their final regular season game.
The Quakers held off three shots in the first quarter before the visiting squad put a shot into the cage in the middle of the second frame. The Bishops then netted three more goals in the third quarter, and got a final score on a deflection in the final frame.
Earlham was outshot 20-2 and trailed in penalty corners 10-2.
Rachel Alma collected seven saves in goal, and stopped a penalty stroke by the Bishops in the third quarter while it was still a 2-0 contest.
The Quakers finish their season in ninth place in the North Coast Athletic Conference standings.
