WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Earlham College women's basketball team fell to Wilmington College 70-54 in the Quaker Bowl rivalry game on Saturday afternoon.
Alexis Gibson matched her career high with 20 points on the afternoon. The sophomore also added five boards on defense.
Amari Bradford led the Quakers in rebounds with a game-high eight.
Jay Bright followed with seven boards and three assists.
Earlham shot 50% from the floor and made two 3-pointers in the first quarter. The teams ended the opening frame tied at 16.
The Quakers then went 0-for-5 from 3-point range in the second quarter, and scored on just four field goals. Wilmington took a 34-26 lead into the halftime break.
EC struggled offensively in the third quarter with a 33% field goal percentage and a 1-for-5 mark from 3-point range. The home squad held a 53-40 advantage heading into the final quarter.
Earlham was unable to stop the Wilmington offense in the fourth quarter, but did get offensive momentum in the end with a 6-for-16 showing in the fourth.
Earlham will continue its season at Franklin College on New Year's eve, tip-off is scheduled for 1 pm.
