KOKOMO – The Earlham College baseball team advanced to the second round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament with a 5-3 win over Rose-Hulman on Thursday afternoon.
The Quakers advance in the winners bracket to take on Franklin College tomorrow at 3:30 pm while the Engineers fall to the losers bracket to battle Hanover College tomorrow morning.
Justin Dillhoff started and pitched into the eighth inning to earn the win. He struck out four batters and allowed just two hits in the first seven innings.
Jacob Renner threw the final two frames with only one hit to earn the save.
Easton Embry recorded a two-RBI double in the bottom of the second inning to put the Quakers on the board early.
Jeordon Kuderer hit an RBI single through the right side in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Christian Lancianese began the fifth inning with a lead-off home run to left field before
Maxwell Fries knocked a run in with an outfield single.
