TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Earlham College cross country team began its 2022 season at the Rose-Hulman Opener on Thursday evening.
Connor Del Carmen led the way for the Quaker men with a fifth-place overall finish after running a time of 16:16 in the 5k race.
Alex Roberts was the second scorer with a 15th-place showing and a time of 17:21.
Ian Gorley, Levi Crall and
Stephane Bronsard rounded out the Earlham top-five which scored an average time of 18:07.
Lily Schamel was the top-finishing woman for EC with a time of 22:11.2 earning her 23rd place.
Jillian Schlieper was next for the Quakers, coming in 31st place with a 24:43.1.
Elena Stirn finished just 12 seconds behind in 33rd place.
The Quakers will continue their season in two weeks at the Hanover Invitational on September 10. The women's race will kick off at 10 am with the men's competition following at 10:45.
