RICHMOND – The Earlham College men's soccer team defeated the University of Cincinnati Clermont College 2-1 in Matlack-Messer Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Quakers improved to 2-0-1 on the 2022 season.
After a scoreless first half,
Quentin Berry recorded the first Earlham goal in the 75th minute on a close-range shot from the left side. The shot came just 40 seconds after Berry pulled a shot from the same position wide left of the goal.
Braden Guinn extended the lead in the 88th minute on a free kick goal from around 25 yards out.
The Cougars added a goal in the 89th minute.
Berry led the Quake with four total shots, and placed two on frame. Guinn was second on the list with two shots.
Tyler Smith had an active day in the goal with eight saves.
Earlham will be back in action on Wednesday in Matlack-Messer Stadium to host Indiana University East at 3:30 pm.
