Field hockey shut out by Sabres

FOND DU LAC, Wisc. – The Earlham College field hockey team concluded its weekend trip to Wisconsin with a 2-0 loss to Marian University on Sunday afternoon. 

The Quakers return to Richmond with a record of 0-2 to begin the season. 

The Sabres clocked a goal in the opening minute of play to take an early lead. They added a second goal off of a penalty corner in the second quarter. 

Guin Schalck, who scored the lone goal of the weekend yesterday, and Regan Seeman both recorded two shots on goal in the contest. 

Goalkeeper Rachel Alma registered nine saves in the loss. 

The Quakers were outshot 17-6 and drew three penalty corners as opposed to 11 from the Sabres. 

EC will be back in action on Saturday for the home opener against The College of Wooster. The start time is scheduled for noon in Darrell Beane Stadium.
