TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Earlham College women's tennis team began its first season back after a hiatus at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Friday evening.
The Quakers fell to the Engineers 9-0 in their first head-to-head outing of the season.
Maddie Cherry played the role of #1 single and fell to the top player from Rose-Hulman 6-2 and 6-4.
In doubles, Cherry teamed up with
Gabby Johns to fall 8-6.
The event also served as the first match for new head coach
Todd Tucker who has been tasked with bringing women's tennis back to the campus of Earlham.
The Quakers will continue their season on Sunday at Capital University. The match is slated for noon in Bexley, Ohio.
