RICHMOND – The Earlham College women's basketball team dropped a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup against Mount St. Joseph University 66-54 on Saturday afternoon.
Alexis Gibson led the Quakers with a career-high 21 points. The sophomore also brought down a game-high nine rebounds.
Amari Bradford also reached double digits with 10 points and six rebounds.
The Quakers stayed in contention early in the contest, and took the lead off of a layup from
Neely Trenshaw late in the first quarter. EC led 16-12 heading into the final minute of the frame before a 5-0 run by the Lions.
MSJ started the second quarter with a 7-2 run, and held its advantage through the rest of the contest.
The Quakers averaged a 32% field goal percentage after shooting 41% in the opening period.
Earlham will be back in action on Wednesday evening at Defiance College to continue the HCAC slate. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
