SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Earlham College volleyball team was swept by Wittenberg University on the road on Tuesday evening.
The Quakers were led on offense by
Maria Young with eight kills, and a .231 average.
Ava Walters dished out 16 assists, and scored two service aces. Serving as libero,
Katie Conner collected 13 digs.
As a team, the Quakers scored 22 kills. Earlham struggled to find offense in the first set, and only scored three kills with a .147 hitting percentage in a 25-12 set loss.
The Quakers rebounded in the following set, and took a 5-0 lead at the start. Trailing 19-15, the Tigers scored a 10-1 run to unseat the Quakers in the frame.
The Quakers will be back in action on Saturday at Hanover College. The match is scheduled for 1 pm at the Panthers.
