CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Earlham College women's soccer team continued conference play with a 2-0 loss at Mount St. Joseph on Saturday evening.
The Quakers fell to 2-7-1 (1-3 HCAC) while the Lions improved to 6-4-2 (4-0 HCAC).
Makayla Hurey collected eight saves in the loss. The junior is now up to 34 saves since the HCAC slate began, and she has an 81% save percentage.
The lions took the lead in the 23rd minute, and added a safety goal in the 65th minute.
Earlham was outshot 19-3 on the evening.
"The team played its best game of the season tonight," said head coach
Lydia Harvey. "They battled until the final whistle, and didn't let the circumstances of the game get their heads down or stop them from continuing to create chances."
The Quakers host Bluffton University on Wednesday afternoon for a 3:30 pm matchup in Matlack-Messer Stadium.
