RICHMOND – The Earlham College women's basketball team fell to Defiance College 71-58 in Druley Performance Gym on Tuesday evening.
Neely Trenshaw and
Alexis Gibson led the Quakers in scoring with 13 points each. Gibson joined
Amari Bradford for the team lead in rebounds with six.
Defiance outscored the Quakers 21-13 in the opening quarter, and the Yellow Jackets won the battle in every france except the fourth.
Trailing 23-15 in the second quarter, EC scored a 7-0 run to bring the score to 23-22. The visitors responded with a 6-0 run to halt the comeback effort.
The Quakers will conclude their season on Friday at Transylvania University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm in Lexington, Ky.
