RICHMOND – The Earlham College women's tennis team defeated Miami Middletown 8-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Payton Dugan improved to 4-1 on the season with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No.1 singles for the Quakers.
Maddie Cherry also picked up a sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No.2 singles.
Natalee McCann lost a battle at the No.3 spot 6-2, 4-6, 7-6. The freshman rallied down 7-2 in the third frame to take the lead 10-9 before ultimately falling 12-10.
Sarah Tierney won at No.4 singles 6-3, 6-1, and
Elizabeth Hoff scored a 6-2, 6-0 win at No.5.
Maria Farst rounded out the singles lineup with a win at No.6.
Dugan and McCann teamed up for an 8-0 win at No.1 singles. At No.2, Hoff and Cherry won 8-2, and
Madison Ruwersma and Farst won 8-1 at No.3 singles.
The Quakers are back in action at the ITA Regional Tournament on September 22.
