RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College volleyball team battled Heidelberg University to a 3-2 win in Druley Performance Gym on Tuesday evening.
The five-set match lasted over two hours, with both teams trading sets.
After being honored for joining the 1,000 kills club prior to the contest,
Maria Young led the offense with 20 kills and a .132 average. The senior also had two aces and one block.
Ava Walters dished out 36 assists and had two aces.
Earlham scored 15 aces on the evening, with seven coming from
Lauren Newcomer.
Katie Conner led the back line with 13 digs, while Young collected 12.
As a team, the Quakers scored 58 kills, and had a .147 attack percentage.
Earlham will begin its conference slate on Friday evening at home against Manchester. The match is slated for 7:30 pm.
