RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's basketball team dropped an HCAC matchup to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 63-50 on Wednesday evening.
The Quakers fell to 3-9 (1-6 HCAC) while the Engineers improved to 7-7 (4-3 HCAC).
Bailey Gibson led the offense with 14 points and five rebounds.
Jay Bright led the squad in rebounds with eight, and scored 13 points.
Alexis Gibson reached double-digits with 10 points.
After trailing 30-19 at halftime, the Quakers played some of their best basketball all season to outscore the Engineers 19-15 in the third quarter. Earlham forced six turnovers and collected seven offensive rebounds in the frame.
After a 5-0 run for the Quakers in the early fourth quarter, Rose-Hulman went on a 12-2 run to put the game out of reach with just under three minutes remaining.
The Quakers will host Manchester University on Saturday at 1 pm. The men's game will follow completion of the women's game.
