BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Earlham College men's basketball team dropped an HCAC contest at Bluffton University on Wednesday evening.
Ken WAlker led the Quakers with 28 points and eight rebounds.
Aidan Temple scored 10 points and brought in eight boards.
The Quakers scored 28 points in the paint, and capitalized for 12 second-chance points.
At the five-minute mark of the first half, the Quakers held a 10-5 lead over the home team. Two possessions later, the Beavers tied the game at 10 off of a 3-pointer. Earlham scored a 7-0 run to lead 24-18 with 4:42 remaining in the half, the Beavers then outscored the Quakers 9-2 in the final four minutes.
Bluffton then started the second half with eight straight points to lead 36-26 after three minutes of action. The Beavers led 54-31 with 10 minutes remaining in the half before a 9-0 run by the Quakers. Trailing 60-44, the Quakers scored an 18-2 run, boosted by 3-pointers on four straight EC possessions. Temple tied the game at 62 with 60 seconds remaining, but the Bluffton defense held Earlham scoreless in the final minute.
Earlham will continue play on Saturday at Manchester University. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 pm.
