Six Quakers run season bests at Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Earlham College cross country team was on display Friday evening at the JennaStrong Fall Classic hosted by Wilmington College.

The course proved fast for the Quakers as six representatives from Earlham recorded new season or personal bests.

Akiko Tajima led the women's team, scoring a 41-second personal best in the 5k with a time of 22:06.2. Fellow senior Lily Schamel ran a season-best 22:20.1.

Sofie Kurrasch ran a new collegiate-best time of 23:29.4 to continue her strong freshman season, and Katelyn Trotto rounded out the EC lineup with a 24:44.5.

On the men's side, Levi Call led the Quakers with a 29:51.2. Call was chased by Jaden Hawthorne at 30:03.0.

Anthony Gough ran a new PR with a 30:39.5 in the 8k race, and Michael Pacheco earned a new best time with a mark of 34:02.1.

"That was the best both teams have run as a group all season" said head coach Jason Davis. "We get better every week"
