WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Earlham College cross country team was on display Friday evening at the JennaStrong Fall Classic hosted by Wilmington College.
The course proved fast for the Quakers as six representatives from Earlham recorded new season or personal bests.
Akiko Tajima led the women's team, scoring a 41-second personal best in the 5k with a time of 22:06.2. Fellow senior
Lily Schamel ran a season-best 22:20.1.
Sofie Kurrasch ran a new collegiate-best time of 23:29.4 to continue her strong freshman season, and
Katelyn Trotto rounded out the EC lineup with a 24:44.5.
On the men's side,
Levi Call led the Quakers with a 29:51.2. Call was chased by
Jaden Hawthorne at 30:03.0.
Anthony Gough ran a new PR with a 30:39.5 in the 8k race, and
Michael Pacheco earned a new best time with a mark of 34:02.1.
"That was the best both teams have run as a group all season" said head coach
Jason Davis. "We get better every week"
Earlham has two weeks before hosting the HCAC Cross Country Championship meet at Blue River Cross Country Course in Shelbyville, Ind.
