BEXLEY, Ohio – The Earlham College men's basketball team opened its 2024-25 season with a 93-76 loss at Capital University on Saturday afternoon.
Ken Walker matched his career-high with 33 points scored. The sophomore recorded 38 minutes of action and collected five rebounds. Walker shot 4-of-5 from 3-point range, and 13-of-18 on field goals.
Landen Hale reached double-digits in his Quaker debut with four rebounds and a team-high three steals.
Connor Smith hit a 3-pointer to give Earlham a 5-4 lead in the opening minutes. Capital scored on the next possession, and Walker drove in for a layup to retake the lead. The Comets went on a 7-0 run starting at the 12:27 mark of the first half to lead 23-14. Capital had its largest lead of the half at the 6:15 mark, leading 34-22.
After leading 43-35 at halftime, Capital opened the second half with a 17-1 run to cement its lead at 60-36. The Quakers put together a 10-0 run in the final three minutes.
The Quakers continue play on Wednesday at Wilmington College for the Quaker Bowl. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 pm.
