WOOSTER, Ohio – The Earlham College women's basketball team took down the College of Wooster 71-63 on Monday afternoon in non-conference action.
Jay Bright led the attack with 23 points and five rebounds.
Bailey Gibson brought down a team-high 10 boards while scoring seven points.
Amari Wright notched 15 points with six boards, and
Amari Bradford scored 11 with seven rebounds.
As a team, the Quakers shot 43% from the floor, and went 4-for-7 on 3-pointers in the second half.
The damage came in the second and third quarters for the Quakers, outscoring the Scots 45-23.
The Quakers trailed 18-14 before a 17-4 run in the second quarter. Wooster scored on back-to-back possessions at the 6:03 mark to break up the run, and was then held scoreless for over six minutes. In the third quarter, Earlham put together a 17-4 run to go up 56-35. The Scots hit a layup in the final minute of the Quarter to trail by 20 going into the final frame.
The Quakers get back into conference play on Saturday against Franklin College. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 pm in Druley Performance Gym.
