TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Earlham College men's golf team scored an eighth-place finish in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology over the weekend. 

As a team, the Quakers shot 618, with a 12-stroke improvement on day two of competition (315, 303).

Mychal McKelvey led the Quakers with a tenth-place individual finish. The junior shot 73, 76 for a total score of 147, which was +7 on the course. Adam Strecker followed with a total of 156 (82, 74). Vassily Lombard and Arthur Del Bourgo both saw five-stroke improvements on day two to finish with a 157 and 159 respectively. 

"I'm proud of how the guys responded on day two with a team score of 303." Said head coach CD Hockersmith. "It was cold and windy, and they put up the fifth-lowest team score of the day and third-lowest out of HCAC Schools."

"Adam Strecker's score of 74 was the seventh-lowest of the day. Mychal McKelvey added to his decorative career with a top-10 finish which earned him all-tournament team honors."

The Quakers will have three weeks to prepare for the Polar Beaver Shootout, jointly hosted by Bluffton University and Ohio Northern University, on April 5-6.
