RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College softball team split a midweek doubleheader with Centre College on Wednesday afternoon in Ellie Bewley Stadium.
GAME ONE: EARLHAM 1 CENTRE 0
Tatum Rickert earned a win in game one of the day with 6.2 innings pitched, seven strikeouts and five hits.
Morgan Cooksey came in for the last out of the seventh inning with a save.
Bo Shelton scored the only hit of the game for Earlham with a double to center field in the fourth inning. The hit brought home Kylie Raybrun, who earned a leadoff walk in the inning.
The Colonels left a total of six runners on base in their shutout loss.
GAME TWO: EARLHAM 4 CENTRE 11
Cooksey started in the circle for game two with a complete six innings with 10 earned runs and five strikeouts.
Faith Butler allowed just two hits in the final inning of play.
Batting leadoff,
Malaya Tanglao recorded one hit with two RBI in game two. Cooksey went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Nikki Alston hit a triple and scored one run.
The Quakers will host Wittenberg University in Ellie Bewley Stadium on Saturday beginning at 1 pm.
