RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College men's lacrosse team sailed past Mount St. Joseph University with a 26-4 win in Darrell Beane Stadium on a rain-soaked Wednesday evening.
The Quakers improved to 6-5 on the season.
Robert Gift scored a career-high eight goals and dished out five assists to lead the offense with 13 points.
Mark Resig continued his strong rookie season with five goals scored.
Jacob Bandfield,
Ben Adkins, and
Ryan Polack all scored three goals each.
Zach Price scored twice and went 23-29 on faceoffs with 13 ground balls.
Polack led the team in caused turnovers with six, and hauled in six ground balls.
Donovan Shea caused five turnovers and picked up a team-high 18 balls. In the cage,
Braden Greeno made four saves.
Bandfield connected on the first goal of the game with an assist from Gift in the ninth minute of play, the Quakers then went on to lead 8-2 at halftime. As the rain fell harder, the Quaker offense increased. The home squad had an 8-0 advantage in the third quarter, and a 10-2 scoring run in the fourth frame.
Earlham outshot the Lions 85-15, and the Quakers converted on 29-of-32 clear attempts.
The Quakers will continue play on Saturday at 1 pm in Darrell Beane Stadium against Transylvania University for Senior Day.
